What is Toon Shading？

Toon shading， also known as cel shading， is a rendering technique in 3D computer graphics
aimed at replicating the hand-drawn appearance of anime and comics.
Where it gained prominence in video games and animation production.

Main Platforms and Applications
Toon shading is widely used in game engines like Unity and Unreal Engine，
as well as DCC （Digital Content Creation） tools such as Blender，
Maya， and 3ds Max. These tools enable the creation of anime-style visuals across
a variety of platforms.

Future Prospects
With advances in 3dcg and real-time rendering capabilities， toon shading is expected to allow even
more captivating visual expressions.
This technique is likely to see wider adoption by both independent creators
and professional studios alike.
